Lake Placid is located on the Guadalupe River southwest of Seguin, Texas. The reservoir was formed by the construction of a dam in 1928.The dam and lake are managed by the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority. Lake Placid is a great venue for fishing, boating, and swimming. Lake Placid has been stocked with varying species of fish including catfish, sunfish, white crappie, and largemouth bass. There is only one free public boat ramp located on the lake.
